About Our Hepatitis A
Overview
Hepatitis A is a liver inflammation, caused by ingesting or interacting with food and water from a person infected with the virus, as well as through blood. The disease is known to be found in places that have less stringent drinking water sanitation practices, so it’s good to get tested before or after you travel. The incubation period of Hep A is 14-28 days, and can conclude in liver failure. This period may be accompanied by feelings of discomfort, malaise, or particularly dark-colored urine. Not everyone who is infected will show symptoms. Luckily, a vaccine for Hepatitis A does exist! If you test regularly and follow your suggested vaccination regimen, you’re likely to steer clear of Hep A and its consequences.
